Registration for the College Prep School Invitational Now Open
Lexy Green, director of forensics at the College Preparatory School, has opened registration for the tenth annual installment of her school’s tournament.
“We like hosting an all Lincoln Douglas tournament, a tournament at which Lincoln Douglas debate is treated with respect, rather than as an afterthought,” notes Green. “We are a TOC bid tournament at the semi-final level.”
Josh Tupler Wins Valley Mid-America Cup
University School’s Josh Tupler is the winner of this year’s Mid-America Cup at West Des Moines Valley High School, having defeated Lake Highland Preparatory School’s Christian Morris on a 2-1 decision in the final round.
The all-Florida final round was judged by Charles Chy, Christian Tarsney, and Marshall Thompson. Thompson dissented, the only ballot Josh lost all weekend. Read more →
Brian Hodge Wins Houston-Memorial
Cypress Falls High School’s Brian Hodge is the champion of this season’s Rex Fleming Memorial Tournament at Memorial High School in Houston. He defeated Reagan High School’s Rodrigo Paramo in the final round. Read more →
Josh Feinzig is Yale Champion
Stoneman Douglas High School’s Josh Feinzig is the champion of the 2011 Yale Invitational in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. He bested Loyola Blakefield High School’s Tom Cameron in the final round on a 4-1 decision. The final round was adjudicated by Jonathan Bowyer, Allison Douglis, Diana Li, Marc Wallach, and Joanna Zheng. (Feinzig negated, and Douglis sat out.) Read more →
