This year’s tournament will be held October 13th through the 16th with Registration on Thursday night and all events beginning competition on Friday. The tournament is committed to providing an excellent experience with quality judging and a diverse pool of student competitors.
This year’s LD tabroom will be led by Tim Case. All schools are guaranteed 2 entries and can request a third entrant by emailing tcase@pres-net.com. Space for the tournament is limited based upon registration so be sure to complete the process as early as possible if you intend upon requesting a 3rd spot. All entries are placed on a waitlist and removed from this waitlist as entry fees are paid. All entries unpaid after September 15th will be placed on a true waiting list.
The judge ratio is 4 rounds per debater. One judge can cover the full commitment of two debaters at the tournament. Hired judges are available for the tournament at $30 per round. St. Marks is committed to increasing the quality of the judge pool. Experienced judges willing to be paid to judge beyond their commitment in prelims or outrounds as well as judges not currently affiliated with a school that are interested in being hired to judge at the St. Marks tournament should contact Tim Case ASAP at tcase@pres-net.com.
St. Marks is a TOC OCTOS BID for LD Debate.
In addition to LD, the tournament remains a TOC OCTOS BID for Policy debate.
The tournament has also brought back Public Forum debate this year.
