VBI2011: Happy Birthday, Luke Stuttgen!
Today, June 28, 2011, is the birthday of Luke Stuttgen from Apple Valley High School. He was treated to a birthday song before the entire camp, led enthusiastically by two-time TOC champion Chris Theis.
VBI2011: Li vs. Roberts
This year’s final round at the NFL National Tournament featured Hunter College High School’s Diana Li and Northland Christian School’s Josh Roberts. The two faced off against in a demonstration debate held before the entirety of VBI — except for the two novice labs, which were treated to a separate demonstration debate — in the auditorium at Deneve Plaza.
VBI2011: Bloom vs. Scher
Saint James champion Hamilton Bloom (formerly of the Montgomery Academy) faced off this evening. against TOC top speaker Dylan Scher (formerly of Berkeley Carroll School) for a demonstration debate in front of our novice labs.
Registration for New York City Invitational Opens August 1
Registration for the forty-first annual New York City Invitational at the Bronx High School of Science opens at 12:01 AM EST on Monday, August 1, 2011. Registration has historically filled in hours, so early registration is best.
The tournament this year includes competition in Lincoln Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Team Debate (Policy Debate), and Legislative Debate (Congressional Debate), as well as in the Individual Events (Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Extemporaneous speaking, Humorous Interpretation, Original Oratory, and Prose & Poetry).
