VBI2011: Happy Birthday, Carleton Yang!
Today we celebrate the birthday of Carleton Yang of Desert Vista High School, a member of the Christian Tarsney/Steven Adler lab.
VBI2011: Practice Round 2
The pairings for the second practice round are available online. The divisions are named for three of our past camp leaders: Oscar Shine, Tommy Clancy, and Neil Conrad. (The Conrad Division will begin its practice rounds later.)

Students have a set of modules this afternoon. The options include “Basic and Intermediate Cross-Examination” with Jeff Gans and Dylan Scher, “Counterplans and Permutations” with Erik Legried, “Critical without the K” with Jane Kessner, “Debating with Limited Resources” with a panel, “Flowing” with Kanisha Parthasarathy, “Free Will” with Peter D. van Elswyk, “Of Mice and Debaters” with Ben Sprung-Keyser, “Skepticism” with Christian Tarsney, and “Thinking Like the Judge” with Jon Cruz and Chris Castillo.

VBI2011: Thursday Skills & Drills
This morning, students — divided into groups called Ice, Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth — are engaging in the second skills practicum and related drill battery. Today’s subject is “Refutation.” (Ice and Fire got started on tomorrow’s practicum, “Crystallization.)
