LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Victor Jih is the coach of Brentwood School, a district chair for the National Forensic League, a high-power attorney, a past champion of the California Invitational at Berkely, a past champion of The Amazing Race, and the founder of Victory Briefs. UPDATE: We have always strived at VBD to provide a forum where the debate community can engage in a constructive dialogue. This thread, unfortunately, has strayed beyond the appropriate norms for community discussion and arguably legal propriety. Alabama State (AFEA) — Finals: Saint James’s Brandon Herrin defeated Mountain Brook’s Mims Windham on a 2-1 decision.
Great Midwestern Novice Debate Championships — Finals: West Des Moines Valley’s Lucy Korsakov defeated Saint Louis Park’s on a 3-0 decision.
Massachusetts State (MFL) — Finals: Lexington’s Noah Star defeated Needham’s Laura Furman on a 2-1 decision.
New York State (NYSDCA) — Finals: Berkeley Carroll’s Dylan Scher defeated Hunter College’s Diana Li on a 2-1 decision.
Woodward National Championships — Second-Year Finals: Suncoast Community’s Carlton Bone defeated Harvard-Westlake’s Brendan Gallagher on a 3-0 decision. Novice Finals: Harvard-Westlake’s Annie Kors and Tommy Choi closed out.
Carlton Bone Wins, Harvard-Westlake Closes Out Woodward
ATLANTA, Ga. — Suncoast Community High School’s Carlton Bone is the Woodward National Champion in Second-Year Lincoln-Douglas Debate, having bested Harvard-Westlake School’s Brendan Gallagher on a 3-0 decision.
