CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y., NEW YORK, N.Y., and WATERTOWN, Mass. — Jim Menick of Hendrick Hudson High School, Jon Cruz of the Bronx High School of Science, and Chris Palmer of Lexington High School have released the latest installment of their podcast, The View from Tab. In the forty-second episode, now available for download, Menick, Cruz, and Palmer discuss the NDCA National Championships and various ways to deal with side bias issues (an eighth round, side equalization in outrounds, and so on).

Katelyn Sheehan, Edmund Saw Are Virginia State Champions

LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Virginia High School League State Tournament has crowned its champions. In the final round of the AAA competition, Lake Braddock High School’s Katelyn Sheehan defeated Warwick High School’s Christopher Middleton to take the title. Aaron Timmons is NDCA Educator of the Year

SCRANTON, Penn. — Each year, the membership of the National Debate Coaches Association votes on the recipient of the prestigious Educator of the Year Award. The award recognizes the “someone who has made a substantial impact on the high school debate community through their service, commitment, and teaching. Not merely a teacher or coach to their own students, this individual should truly define what it means to be an educator to the community at large.”

This year’s NDCA Educator of the Year is Greenhill School’s Aaron Timmons.
