Walt Whitman Closes Out WACFL Metrofinals
STERLING, Va. — The Washington-Arlington Catholic Forensic League Metropolitan Championship — “Metrofinals” — is the joint championship event for the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia area. Iowa All-State Finals (IFL) — Finals: West Des Moines Valley’s Yale Zhu and Megan Nubel closed out.
Florida State Tournament (FFL) — Finals: University’s Josh Tupler defeated Lake Highland’s Martin Sigalow on a 3-0 decision.
New Jersey State Tournament (NJFL) — Finals: Ridge’s Allison Douglis defeated Hunterdon Central’s Alexander Huang.
Nichols Invitational (Harker) — Finals: Rancho Bernardo Independent’s Paras Kumar defeated Harvard-Westlake’s Jake Sonnenberg on a 3-0 decision.
Ohio State (OHSSL) — Finals: Howland’s Chris Kiriakou defeated Austintown-Fitch’s Ron Deamicis on a 4-1 decision.
Voices Round Robin — Finals: Harvard-Westlake’s Ben Sprung-Keyser and Jake Sonnenberg closed out.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Rancho Bernardo High School’s Paras Kumar, competing as an independent, is the champion of the eleventh annual Howard & Diana Nichols Invitational. He defeated Harvard-Westlake School’s Jake Sonnenberg on a 3-0 decision to win the tournament. Read more →
